About Benjie Kalalo
Benjie, a guitarist from Quezon Province, has over 23 years of experience with the instrument. His passion began when a friend from Zamboanga City patiently taught him how to play, and since then, the guitar has been a central part of his life. Inspired by the band CREED, he started out as a self-taught musician, later guided by mentors through variety performances and church music.
Over the years, Benjie has performed with numerous bands and shared the stage with well-known musicians. He has also recorded material for different groups and artists. While metal is at the core of his musical identity, his appreciation has grown across genres—always ready to adapt to the needs of any band he joins.
Beyond music, Benjie is passionate about extreme sports. His dedication to continuous growth comes from his desire to be a more efficient musician and a better teacher, which he sees as his way of giving thanks to God for the gift of music. For Benjie, the most important lesson participants can take away from his workshop is the value of always being humble and professional.
